Home groups are at the heart of Parkway Bible Church. They are where Parkway Bible Church attempts to be the Church as Jesus intended, living as the first church modeled in the book of Acts. It is in these small groups that we devote ourselves to reading the word of God, the teaching of the Apostles, fellowship, breaking of communion bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42-47). It is our hope that by God’s grace, we will experience glad and sincere hearts in community with one another and in the worship of Jesus. It is our prayer that the world would know we are his disciples by our love for one another (John 13:35).
I’m new, how would I fit in?
We welcome you with open arms! We recognize that sometimes it’s hard to be the new person. But you will find that our groups are warm and friendly and we love living life together. Our groups are, we think, the perfect size to get to know each other on a deeper level. One thing all of our groups have in common is a feeling of family and community.
When do the home groups meet?
Home groups meet in a member’s home twice or three times a month (many groups take the summer off). We currently have three fantastic groups to choose from. Our groups are a combination of ages and family composition – from singles to married to married with kids to empty nesters.
What happens during a home group meeting?
Home group meetings include food and fellowship followed by Bible reading, discussion, prayer, and sometimes communion. Each group structure and style varies according to the gifting of the leader and members. We encourage all Home groups to grow together by serving each other, their neighborhoods, and their world through missions and mercy ministry.
